Christmas is around the corner. Lurking. Waiting. Once, a man by the name of Sugar Plumb Gary told me that you cannot spell “horror” without “ho” (true story). Ho ho ho…
I’ve got some gifts for ya, but first…

What I’m sending you next month
…would be a good title for this section if I did not immediately talk about what I’ve sent you this month. Last week, paid subscribers got The Public Humiliation of Brian, a short story exploring the horrors of social anxiety with sci-fi elements.
Telephone had become telepathy. Brian had been leaking thoughts; unintentionally bad ones, horny ones, intentionally bad ones— it was starting to affect business.
Next month I’ll be sending you the first three chapters of Post-Apocalyptic Pirates to read for free. The third book in The Happy Bureaucracy series, Post-Apocalyptic Pirates follows Arthur and Rabia as they go into the United Wastes and make it their bitch. It is also, ostensibly, what I’d like to adapt into season three of the podcast, once I have the funds to do so. If you have not read it already, rejoice! You’ll be getting a taste of it next month. It is my favorite of the Happy Bureaucracy sequels.
Giveaways
If you are looking for things to read and can’t spare a dollar, I got ya! Check out the Best in Speculative Fiction giveaway and/or this Bookmotion All-Genre All-Stars promotion. Why not have a third giveaway? Here, have the Epic Sci-Fi & Fantasy giveaway.
S e c r e t s :
I’ll level with ya: the past month and a half have been a personal shitstorm for me in what was already a trying year. Physical injury, heartbreak, the whole nine yards. You may have your “comfort show” (or book, video game…etc.) that you turn to during tough times, and I want to hear about them! I usually turn to Star Trek or play Portal, but this time around I’ve been diving head-deep into rose-engine’s Signalis, a survival horror game. Think Silent Hill with androids and you are about a quarter way there. It is a painful game, and its rabbit-hole plot and presentation have me thinking about it constantly.
If you haven’t gotten a reply from me it is because I’ve been having some difficulty with my email not sending/going to spam. Rest assured I am reading what you send me and I appreciate your time.
